Spring 2021 Application Design will be taught by Mike Hadley. If you are planning on taking it, we recommend that you take the Code Sprint series in the fall. Each of the three code sprint courses are only 1 credit, and have been created to prepare students to get the most of Application Design. Although they are not pre-requisites, they are highly recommended.
- PROG 450A Code Sprint: Front-end Programming
09/08/2020 – 10/10/2020
- PROG 450B Code Sprint: Cloud Storage/Database for Apps
10/12/2020 – 11/14/2020
- PROG 450C Code Sprint: Server-side Programming for Apps
11/16/2020 – 12/19/2020
All three courses meet on Thursdays, 12:30 – 3:20 pm this fall.
Need to take Data Design? These specific three code sprints together can be substituted for Data Design! They are the same credit hours, and will provide you with the knowledge you need to create apps that leverage databases and data stores (only these three specific code sprints substitute for data design, and all three need to be completed).
PROG 455 Application Design: Complete the full process of shipping an application. Plan, design, and develop products while learning advanced software engineering methods, and exploring topics such as design patterns, behavior-driven design, and source code management.
