Each year the Chicago Toy and Game Group, Inc. promotes and hosts initiatives designed to bring awareness to the power of play and invention in social, educational, and professional environments. Chicago Toy and Game Group initiatives include the Chicago Toy and Game Fair (ChiTAG), the Toy and Game Innovation Awards (the TAGIEs), Inventor Conferences for New and Professional Inventors and Product Acquisition Executives, the Young Inventor Challenge, the Young TECH Challenge, Play in Education Conference, DiscoverGames Inventor Co-op, the PlayCHIC Fashion Show, and the Chicago Toy and Game Foundation.

This year, Columbia College Chicago proudly represented games created by students on November 23rd & 24th at the annual Chicago Toy and Game Fair. The games presented were part of Indie Team, Large Team, and Game Production. Visitors to the booth could choose from a variety of games and AR experiences to play, showcasing the IAM department’s work through real-time user interaction. Students also received useful feedback which will help the production and post-production stage for capstone next semester.
